A tribute to Team Singapore at the 2009 SEA Games

As the 2009 Southeast Asian Games comes to a close, AsiaOne salutes all our players - a 195-strong contingent in 18 sports - who have fought their best in their respective events.

From Singapore's domination at the pool - a 14 gold medals harvest which include Tao Li smashing the 100m butterfly mark held by Joscelin Yeo since '05 - to the triumphant 23-year successive gold from the waterpolo team, and from veteran thrower James Wong's eighth SEA Games gold at the discus event to our country's first ever wrestling medal, this year's Games have seen lots of adrenaline-filled action and inspirational moments for our country.

After ten days of sweat, pain and tears, the Team Singapore athletes have clinched a total of 33 golds, 30 silvers, and 35 bronzes. Last year, Singapore emerged 5th overall with 43 golds, 43 silvers, and 41 bronzes.
