Overcrowding very common

A FOURTH Singaporean has been confirmed dead after an overcrowded boat leaving a kelong in Pulau Sibu in Malaysia capsized on Sunday, according to a Ministry of Foreign Affairs statement yesterday.

The body of Mr Tor Soon Kwee, 41, was found early yesterday morning about 2km off the Tanjung Leman Jetty in Mersing, a spokesman for the Criminal Investigation Division of the Royal Malaysian Police told my paper.

The spokesman said that the boat - which was headed to Mersing, a 30- to 40-minute ride from Pulau Sibu - capsized at around 1.30pm...more.
