Boeing Dreamliner flies past MBS SkyPark

Guests staying at the Marina Bay Sands (MBS) were among the first members of the public to see the Boeing 787 Dreamliner in a special fly by on Tuesday afternoon.

The jet flew over the waters past the MBS SkyPark at around 6.30pm, approaching the 55-storey hotel from Tower 1 at approximately 2,000 ft or 609.6m above ground level and soared towards Tower 3 as it circled back again for a second pass.

The flight also gave passengers on board the Dreamliner a rarely-seen view of the residential area at Sentosa Cove, the Singapore CBD and the Marina Bay area.

This is the first unveiling of the B-787 in Singapore outside of the grounds of the 2012 Singapore Airshow, which opened today.

The aircraft, which landed in Singapore last Saturday, is on the second leg of its six-month Dream Tour to showcase the game-changing technologies around the world.

From now till Feb 17, the B-787 will be showcased the Singapore Airshow, which will be opened to the public this weekend. (Photos: AsiaOne)
