William and Catherine honour war dead in Kranji

Prince William and his wife Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, spent their third and final day in Singapore at the Kranji War Memorial.

They will be heading to Kuala Lumpur next as part of the Asia Pacific Queen's Diamond Jubilee tour, of which Singapore was the first stop.

They are scheduled to visit Solomon islands and Tuvulu next.

The royal couple spent the last morning of their high profile trip to the city state viewing graves of fallen soldiers remembered at the Kranji memorial.

The Straits Times reported that about 500 people gathered at the memorial to catch a glimpse of the famous two.

While the Prince braved the heat in his suit and tie, Catherine carried a dainty umbrella to shelter herself from the sun.
