While most young boys are busy styling their hair with a comb in front of the mirror, some very stylish and more mature men are keeping their beards in check.

Participants of the European Beard and Moustache Championships in Wittersdorf, France, wowed local residents with their hairy antics and fantastic beard-dos.

More than 100 people took part in the strange competition, many of whom showed off gravity-defying hair follicles.

The hair-raising event also involved lots of creativity with each style surprising and amusing audiences in different ways.
