An unglamorous act today might just land you on the front page of tomorrow's newspapers.

Caught-in-the-act videos posted online are dangerous for the subjects they feature because they can be quickly shared on social media platforms.

From teenagers to middle-aged men, the 'stars' in these videos have found themselves in unwanted limelight for getting involved in bus fights, assualts, thefts and other less-than-glorious moments.

However, not all videos this year were of a negative nature.

One video shows neighbours and SCDF personnel saving an Indonesian maid as she dangled from a high-rise building.

Such videos not only help recognise the heroic work of regular joes, they also show that anybody has a shot at their 15 minutes of fame or shame.
