Some people, however, are accidental news-makers.

One such example is a Chinese grandfather who modelled women's clothes on his granddaughter's fashion site. This funky grandpa became a global sensation in just a matter of a few weeks after the pictures went up.

Odd news are also happening in our own backyard. Family-friendly Pulau Ubin also made headlines this year for a scandalous reason. The idyllic island was scouted as an adult-video film location. Netizens were shocked and amused to see the familiar sights being plastered with sexy models in see-through tops.
