| Not surprisingly, the picture that touched the hearts of most AsiaOne readers was the Dragon Boat Tragedy in which surviving members of Singapore's Dragon Boat team paid their last respects to teammates who perished in a freak accident after a dragon boat race in Cambodia. The picture garnered 36.67 per cent of the votes to win AsiaOne's Top Picture 2007. In at second with 16.07 per cent was eight-limbed goddess, two-year-old Lakshmi Tatma, who was born with four arms and four legs, the result of a parasitic twin that stopped developing in her mother's womb. A close third was the Monkey God Tree with 15.69 per cent of the votes. It was a home story that resonated with Singaporeans, who reverently celebrated its symbolism and duly turned it into a tourist attraction. Readers' Choice Top 10 Picture Stories
