If you have a belly bulge
Choose a high-waisted bottom when wearing two pieces so it shows less belly
Go for suits made of a higher Lycra or spandex content for extra tummy control
Think details on top to draw attention upwards
If you have a curvy body
Go for halter-neck styles to define your bustline
Pick swimsuits with belts or diagonal patterns to highlight your hourglass
figure
Skip skimpy swimsuits without support for the bust and bum
If you have a long torso
Opt for tankinis to break up the length of the body
Go for bottoms that are cut high at the thigh. The illusion of longer legs
balances a long body
Go for details such as belts and ruffles
If you have a large bust
Get extra support to prevent sags. That means underwire or built-in bra cups,
broader straps and suits with more Lycra
Choose suits with details below the bustline to draw attention downwards
Wear dark colours on top and lighter colours below
If you have broad shoulders
Choose wider straps, V-necks and scoop necklines to help create the impression
of narrower shoulders
Also go for vertical or diagonal prints to elongate the body and balance out
wide shoulders
If you have short legs
Choose designs with a belt or horizontal line across the mid-section to draw
attention to your waist or hips, not your legs
Skip boy short bottoms and go for high-cut bottoms to make your legs appear
longer
If you have wide hips
Pick tops with brighter colours, more details or an empire cut so that the eye
is drawn upwards
Boy short bottoms in dark colours and a matte finish also help to camouflage
the problem
