3 ways to live it up in Cambodia

3 ways to live it up in Cambodia

Cambodia is truly one country that has it all.

Siem Reap's Angkor Wat needs little introduction, but beyond that there are many other areas in Cambodia that are also worth visiting.

Its busy capital Phnom Penh is the place to go to find out more about the country's history, and for the beach bums, you'll also be glad to know that there are places to go to enjoy pristine waters and white sand.

Here are some experiences and hotels we recommend.

1. Go spa spa away with Six Senses Krabey Island, Sihanoukville (opening in 2017)

Located on the Cambodian island of Krabey, guests will first be welcomed at the mainland jetty before their short water transfer to the island.

The mainland jetty is located less than a 10-minute drive from Sihanoukville Airport, or a 3.5-hour drive from Phnom Penh International Airport.

The trip, however, will be worth it as the resort is home to 40 gorgeous villas, all of which come with a private plunge pool and deck for poolside dining.

The spa is also a must-experience, with a menu that encompasses several Cambodian healing traditions, multi-day rejuvenation journeys, yoga, workshops and more.

With a meditation cave, nail bar, gym, outdoor yoga and treatment sala, it's really everything you need to get your mojo back.

For the outdoorsy types, you'll be glad to know that snorkelling, diving and kayaking are also available.

2. Go on a camping trip with a difference with Heritage Suites Hotel, Siem Reap

It's camping, sans the bugs, having to sleep on a bumpy ground, and answering nature's call in the jungle.

Heritage Suites Hotel's Luxury Tented Camp experience is a 2D1N adventures that starts with a morning tour of the Cambodian countryside in a Jeep, accompanied by a guide to discover local villages, and temples like Prei Monti and Beng Mealea.

In the evening, you'll arrive at the campsite where you'll get to unwind over a cocktail and a gourmet candlelit dinner prepared by the team from the Heritage Restaurant at Heritage Suites Hotel.

The tents are decked out with modcons like plush mattresses and pillows, as well as bathroom facilities. The next morning, your day will begin with a hearty breakfast, before you go off to a nearby village in a traditional ox cart.

The Heritage Adventures Luxury Tented Camp experience starts from USD1,695 (S$2,348) per tent and will be available from December 15, 2016 to February 28, 2017. Click here for more information.

3. Stay in the heart of Phnom Penh with Sun & Moon Urban Hotel

Cambodia's bustling capital city is always fun to explore and Sun & Moon Hotel is the perfect base from which to do so!

Located in the heart of the city in the French quarter, it's walking distance from many of the city's landmarks and attractions, as well as close to the river, where you'll find many wonderful bars and restaurants.

Be charmed by the hotel's custom-designed furniture, vibrant colour palette, and gallery of contemporary art work as you dine at the hotel's Salt n' Pepper Gastropub or sip on a glass of wine at Unplug Bar.

In the evening, head to the hotel's rooftop bar, Cloud 9, to enjoy a cocktail as you take in unparalleled views of the city.
