Skyscanner brings you Bangkok's best hotel and hostel options for under S$100 so you don't need to miss out on your creature comforts.

From hostels to hotels, we've got your accommodation needs covered whether you want a hotel next to shopping haven Pratunam, a comfortable bed with the basics on your backpacking trip, or place to house the perfect family vacation.

1. Hostels

1.1 NapPark Hostel - comfort in Khao San

A short walk or night time stumble from the consumerist and hedonist delights of Khao San Road, Nappark offers amazing value in its sleek dorms which are kept spotlessly clean and super secure with electronic key card access and individual lockers.

There are plenty of comfortable social areas with games to play with fellow wanderers and washing machines and driers to save those hot trips lugging dirty laundry around town.

The Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha are within walking distance providing you can escape the heady temptations of Khao San.

1.2 Refill Now - a hostel with a pool

If you are rummaging around the bargain basement hostels but need a pool to relax by on a sultry Bangkok afternoon, look no further than this newcomer on the scene.

It's a bit far off the beaten track, but that encourages more authentic neighbourhood exploration of nearby street stalls, markets and hawker stands.

The rooms are beautifully decorated with cool murals that blend sci-fi and floral and the building is flooded with natural light from the many floor-to-ceiling glass windows.

The cheapest rooms are in the dorms though there are also spacious private loft rooms for couples and a huge loft space with space for 4 which is perfect for a travelling group of friends.

1.3 Lub d Siam Square Hostel - cheap accommodation next to shopping havens

Lub d is a hip hostel right in the coolest part of town with shopping, food and entertainment in Siam Square never more than a stone's throw away. In the area you'll also find Saim Paragon, MBK and Central World to get your fill of malls.

Lub d is a good example of how a hostel should be run with loads of electricity access points, ultra-fast Wi-Fi and a safe and secure ladies dorm area with electronic key card access and generous personal luggage space to store your bits and pieces.

Couples and pairs can choose from a selection of well kitted-out doubles with attached bathroom.

The hostel is nicely painted with wall murals and there is a communal movie space on the second floor and a bar area for when you are feeling chatty.

Luggage stash option available so you don't need to lug your bags around when you have a late flight and late check out also available at a minimal charge.

2. Hotels

2.1 Tints of Blue Hotel - gorgeous rooms in upmarket Bangkok

This stunning new hotel offers gorgeous rooms in the upmarket heart of the city. The interior is all about beautiful lighting, repurposed wood and enough artistic flourishes to make your holiday snaps look amazing.

The rooms are designed around the theme of blue with Bangkok Blue featuring hand painted scenes of the city and Sky Blue decorated with an aviation and flying theme.

Our favourite has to be the Mysterious Blue, a room with a seductive Persian ambience, perfect for those on a romantic getaway. There's a cafe, gym, rooftop pool and sundeck and free bikes to help you explore.

The neighbourhood around here is a glutton and shopper's delight with a selection of international restaurants and shopping at The Em Distict and Terminal 21 a short stroll away. For these prices, it's a steal to check in here.

Address: 47 Sukhumvit 27 Road Wattana

2.2 Baiyoke Sky Hotel - your oasis close to Pratunam

Shoppers flock to the Pratunam, an area awash with wholesale clothes markets, glitzy malls and street sellers all offering their wares at attractive prices.

However, take a glance up at the sky and you won't be able to miss Thailand's tallest building, the 88-storey Baiyoke Sky Hotel. If you book early enough, the rooms here go for an absolute steal and offer unrivalled city views.

Pop up to the rooftop pool and bar at sunset for a bit of post-shopping relaxation and bathe in the glow of a bargain well found.

Those travelling with families don't need to miss out on the good deals that Bangkok offers as the city has a number of new and excellent value service apartments perfect for families.

Our pick is Viva Garden, a four-star service apartment with a range of rooms featuring a fully-equipped kitchenette, quality entertainment system and new, comfortable beds alongside huge bathrooms with tubs and separate shower cubicle.

There is also access to top facilities such as gym, steam room, children's play area and pool.

There's a BTS nearby for access to the centre of the city, though afternoons lounging with drinks by the pool can be quite addictive.

2.4 Loog Choob Homestay - a quality hotel to explore Bangkok by canal and bus

Set within a quiet neighbourhood in Dusit, but with access to a canal boat pier and bus stops to the city's tourist hotspots, this is the ideal place to take a breather from the city and revel in the gorgeous design of this guesthouse.

Nang Leong Market, one of Bangkok's oldest, is a 10-minute walk away so the authentic sounds and smells of the city are never too remote.

Rooms here all have private balconies, super-fast internet and a DVD library for chilled nights in and guests have access to a roof terrace, achingly stylish communal areas, and a tasty free breakfast of quality pastries and cereals with all day tea, coffee and snacks available.

Other nice touches here include temporary bedrooms for those early morning arrivals which are a real blessing and access to shower facilities after check out time.

2.5 U-Tiny Boutique Hotel Suvanarbhumi - for a quick rest en route to the airport

Located only 7kms or a 10-minute drive from Suvarnabhumi Airport, this is a great place to stay for those with brutal early morning wake ups, late arrivals or even for travellers needing a bit of respite from Bangkok's urban intensity and makes a nice change from the general dreariness of overpriced airport hotels.

U-Tiny is a small hotel with 40 rooms set around a pool and garden and is divided into zones with rooms in the Universe Zone promising romantic evenings influenced by twinkling stars and rooms in the Natural Zone working in harmony with the tropical hotel gardens.

There are a few nice innovative touches here including the option to pre-order books to be placed in your bed in the evenings and, best of all, airport transfers are included in the room price.
