First Date For The Hopeless Romantics

1. Impress Your Date With An OffTheCharts Experience At Privé Café

Located on Singapore's only private island at 2 Keppel Bay Vista, Privé Café is set to wow both you and your date. This casual waterfront café is best known for its awardwinning eggs benedict and brunch menu in addition to its burgers, milkshakes and sweet treats.

I'd recommend you dine alfresco so that both you and your date can watch the pristine white yachts bob up and down the serene waters, feel the breeze and soak up the warm rays! If you want to take things up a notch, take your date on a stroll down the Marina at Keppel Bay. The view at night is stunning!

One thing to note please make a reservation at least 24 hours in advance especially if you're looking to dine there during weekends or on festive holidays.

2. Soar Into The Skies At ME@OUE

For the uninitiated, ME@OUE is a charming rooftop restaurant sitting atop OUE Bayfront along the historic Collyer Quay.

If you've got a bigger budget, take your date here for an exquisite dining or chillout experience involving innovative Japanese, French and Chinese cuisine and an extensive selection of wine and cocktails.

Nothing beats getting to know your potential special someone better with a glass or two of fine wine while taking in the gorgeous panoramic views of the lit Marina Bay downtown area after dinner.

3. Enjoy Your Date's Company While Brunching At PoTeaTo

Nestled in the hipster Tiong Bahru precinct, PoTeaTo is a quaint little bistro café where you'll find potato inspired dishes, affordable brunches, a myriad of hot brewed teas and cakes. Even though my boyfriend and I have been together for five/six years or so, we thoroughly enjoyed our weekend date there when we visited recently on a lazy Saturday afternoon.

This cosy café has a lovely ambience that anyone looking to chill out and chit chat will appreciate.

You'll be happy to know that their staff won't "chase" you off just because you've finished eating.

Of the hot tea, pancakes and sweet potato fries that we had, their fragrant oolong rose tea and fluffy pancakes were pretty decent!

4. Chill In Good Company At Timbre @ The Substation

If your date is someone who loves a good ol' laidback chillout session, take him or her to Timbre @ The Substation.

Tucked away from the maddening crowd in a hidden nook at Armenian Street, Timbre @ The Substation is a fresh fusion of live music gigs put up by homegrown musicians, yummy grub and a good range of drinks.

I love Timbre for their fantastic live music, refreshing lime margarita and thin crust roasted duck pizza! Just so you know, Timbre is usually rather packed, so I suggest you visit earlier to chope seats lest you end up whiling away your time queueing.

Psst, Timbre has two other branches in Singapore they're located at The Arts House and Gillman Barracks respectively.

6. Cosmic Bowling At Orchid Bowl @ SAFRA Yishun, SAFRA Tampines and E!hub

I don't know about you but however much I like my EDMs from Hardwell or Alesso, a first date comprising a night out clubbing just doesn't quite make the cut. It doesn't even sound like a right move, aye!

Go glowinthedark bowling instead! Cosmic Bowling is basically a marriage between glowing bowling balls and pins, thumping party music and discotheque lights. Cheers to having a ball of a time laughing and grooving along with your date!

As seen from the promotion in the image above, Cosmic Bowling Nites are held on Fridays and Saturdays from 10am to closing time at SAFRA Yishun, SAFRA Tampines and E!hub.
