The world's most popular views: As told by Instagram

June is just around the corner and we all know what that means.

It's the holiday season and soon our social media feeds will be flooded with exotic travel locations turning all of us stuck in Singapore green with envy.

Alas, everyone knows that when it comes to getting those "likes" on Instagram, we spare no expense with our filters, hashtags and geotags.

So, thanks to a recently released infographic, we now know which travel destinations are most posted about on Instagram.

15. Sagrada Familia

Clinching the 15th spot on the list is the Sagrada Familia, Gaudi's unfinished architectural marvel still into its 135th year of construction.

Located in Barcelona, the Spanish Basilica has over 943,000 posts on Instagram that contain the hashtag #sagradafamilia.

14. Statue of Liberty

A harbour cruise aboard the Staten Island Ferry not only affords you a fantastic vantage point to snap the lady herself, it also allows you to admire the Manhattan skyline all for free!

Located on Liberty Island, the colossal 93 metre statue is 14th on the list with 1.1 million Instagram posts containing the hashtag #statueofliberty.

13. Tower Bridge

Though often mistaken for its nursery rhyme namesake, Tower Bridge is patronised daily by hordes of tourists who flock to see its bascules lifted to allow the passing of river traffic.

Crossing the River Thames, London's most Instagrammed bridge holds 1.2 million posts with the hashtag #towerbridge.

12. Notre Dame de Paris

With some of the most exquisite stained glass windows, church bells and gargoyle statues, Notre Dame draws an approximate 13 million visitors each year, surprisingly beating out the Eiffel Tower.

At number 12 on this list, the cathedral is tagged with 1.3 million #notredame hashtags.

11. Brooklyn Bridge

One of the oldest bridges in the Big Apple, Brooklyn Bridge looms majestically over the East River and connects the boroughs of Brooklyn and Manhattan.

With 1.6 million hashtags containing posts related to #brooklynbridge, this iconic feature of the New York City skyline comes in at number 11 on the list.

10. Empire State Building

Located at the centre of Midtown Manhattan, the world-famous Empire State Building is a 102-storey skyscraper open 365 days a year from 8am to 2am.

It's no wonder then, that this American cultural icon is 10th on this list with more than 1.6 million hashtags.

9. Burj Khalifa

At 828 metres tall and 160 stories high, the imposing structure holds the current world record for the tallest building in the world.

Combined with a futuristic architectural style, the Burj Khalifa has earned its spot on this list with 1.6 million hashtagged #burjkhalifa posts.

8. Golden Gate Bridge

The third bridge to feature on this list, San Francisco's most internationally recognised symbols was declared as one of the Wonders of the Modern World.

Once referred to as "the bridge that couldn't be built", it has amassed 1.6 million posts containing the hashtag #goldengatebridge.

7. The Lourve Pyramid

Located in the city of love, the Lourve is the largest museum ever built covering an astonishing 60,600 square metres (35 football fields) and containing more than 35,000 art pieces.

Since the completion of its glass pyramids in 2002, visitors to the museum have doubled, barelling this architectural masterpiece to the 7th spot on this list with 1.7 million #louvre posts.

6. Venice Beach

Contrary to its name, Venice Beach is not located in Italy but in Los Angeles, California.

The set for popular 90s series Baywatch, this location holds 2.2 million Instagram posts with the hashtag #venicebeach.

5. Times Square

The world's most famous countdown spot, Times Square in New York comes in at 7th on this list with 2.4 million posts containing the hashtag #timessquare.

4. Big Ben

Even though the tower's official name is the Elizabeth Tower, London's most iconic landmark is more commonly referred to by its nickname "Big Ben".

With 2.5 million posts containing the hashtag #bigben, this 97 meter tower comes in 4th on our list of most Instagrammable views.

3. Eiffel Tower

Once the tallest structure in the world, the cultural symbol of France keeps its vigil over the city of Paris.

Thanks to the 6.9 million people that visit each year, the Eiffel Tower clinches the 3rd spot on this list with 3.4 million posts hashtagged #eiffeltower.

2. Las Vegas Strip

The city famed for its vibrant nightlife and entertainment option comes in at number two on our list with 3.6 million posts with the #lasvegasstip hashtag.

A stretch known for its concentration of hotels and casino, the scenic Instagram's popular photography hotspot.

1.Central Park

An urban park set within the concrete jungle of New York, Central Park is a manmade wonder and visited by over 25 million people a year.

Topping our list, the lush grounds have a staggering 4.6 million Instagram posts hashtagged #centralpark.
