What: Whether you like your tea strong or a little diluted, this well-designed teacup gives you a choice. Place loose tea leaves into the filter and pour hot water until the leaves are covered. Just tilt it on the other side of its triangular bottom, when you are ready to drink it.

TAKE BREATH TEA POT
What: Taiwan-based design company Pinyen Creative makes teatime a relaxing time-out, with its cool ceramic and wood tea pot. The top of the pot can also be used as a cup.

COLD FOREST TEA TOWELS
What: Dutch design duo Scholten & Baijings teamed up with Danish collective Hay to produce these woven towels in bright, ombre colours. They are on sale at the Hay House, a travelling pop-up spot at the National Design Centre, which will be there until April 12.

TOM DIXON FORM TEA SET
What: Have a posh cuppa with the British designer's tea set. Made of polished spun brass, the pieces are dipped in a warm gold wash to give them a soft matte surface. There are six pieces in a set, such as a jug, a teapot and a tea caddy, which can also be bought individually.
