SINGAPORE - Foam-injected pullover sweaters, strappy bandage dresses, scuba jackets - these unique pieces are among the much-anticipated Alexander Wang x H&M collection that is set to hit H&M stores worldwide on Nov 6.
Wang is the first American designer to collaborate with H&M, joining the likes of previous big-name collaborators such as Karl Lagerfeld, Isabel Marant and Marni. He is also the youngest, at age 30, to launch a collection with the Swedish giant, according to The Guardian.
In a statement to the press, Wang said: "I am honoured to be a part of H&M's designer collaborations. The work with their team is an exciting, fun process. They are very open to pushing boundaries and to setting a platform for creativity. This will be a great way for a wider audience to experience elements of the Alexander Wang brand and lifestyle."
The stylish but wearable collection is made of fashionable, modern athletic wear featuring items like water-repellent wind-breakers, joggers as well as cropped tops.

The usage of scuba-like material and monochrome colours in his pieces is very pronounced in this collaboration, contributing to the signature Wang aesthetic.
His stand-out pieces include the pullover sweatshirts that boast the Wang name on the front, which is made even more obvious due to foam injections.

Besides clothes, Wang also included accessories in his collection. There are five bags to be released and Wang did not disappoint in this aspect by coming through with a fully leather backpack that is Italian-made. It comes with a special rain cover that is cleverly hidden in a pocket at the top of the bag.

Wang, who is also the creative designer of Balenciaga, had emphasised in an interview with The New York Times that the clothes are "fully functional" as they are quick-drying and breathable pieces.
He decided to make his collection one that is entirely athletic because he said gym clothes are now part of streetwear and is the current "uniform", according to The New York Times.
Prices start at $14.90 for a key ring to $599 for a fully reflective down jacket.
The Alexander Wang x H&M collection will launch at 8am on Nov 6 at H&M Orchard Building and H&M ION Orchard.
