Barbie Hsu's secret wish: "Let me be the one to bear unhealthy child"

It was a sisterly tear-fest when Taiwanese actress-host Barbie Hsu appeared on younger sister Dee Hsu's talkshow recently, My Paper reported.

Barbie, 38, went on popular Taiwan talkshow Mr Con & Ms Csi to promote the launch of her new autobiography.

During the taping, Dee, 37, revealed that when she was pregnant, she was so worried about the health of her foetus that she broke down and cried while talking to her older sister over the phone.

Unbeknownst to her, Barbie said she had made a wish then, "to let Dee give birth to a healthy baby, and I will bear the unhealthy one."

The two ended up in tears on the show, demonstrating their sisterly bond.

Barbie also talked candidly about her long and tiring journey to parenthood. The mother of a one-year-old girl revealed that she spent three years visiting several doctors just to get pregnant.

The long-time vegetarian even began eating meat in the hopes of increasing her chances of getting pregnant, after her mother-in-law commented that "you'll never get pregnant if you continue not eating meat."

When she first saw a positive result on the pregnancy test kit, she immediately took a photo and sent it to husband, Chinese businessman Wang Xiaofei.

But her clueless husband still called her up to ask: "What's the matter?"

Barbie also joked that she put on so much weight when she was pregnant, that her husband had a hard time adjusting to her size.

He didn't dare to say she was fatter, but said her expanding waistline was 'very sexy'.

In her book, Barbie also disclosed that she knew she wanted to marry Wang the moment she met him.

She maintained that she has never felt that life would not be complete without a husband or a child, but all that changed when she met Wang.

"A little voice inside told me 'I want to bear this man's children'," said Barbie.

And he evidently felt the same way about her. After a whirlwind romance where they met just four times within 20 days, according to JayneStars, the pair got engaged in 2010 and held a lavish million-dollar wedding the next year.
