Known for its sonic cleansing devices, Clarisonic's latest innovation is the Pedi Foot Transformation System kit ($290). The set comprises a device with a metal filing disc head and buffing brush head, as well as a foot balm, exfoliator and peeling serum.
It promises to be 10 times more effective than manual buffing. Available at Clarisonic counters and Sephora stores next month.
Review: This elaborate four-step pedicure routine rivals what I can get at a nail salon.
It starts with a dry buffing of the soles and other rough areas of the feet with the metal filing disc, to get rid of flaky dead skin. This is followed by wet buffing with an oscillating stiff brush head and exfoliant.
Next, peeling serum of glycolic acid and lactic acid is applied on the soles to further remove dead skin. Finally, a moisturising foot balm keeps the feet soft and smooth. It takes at least 30 minutes to complete the ritual, but it is worth it. My feet felt so pampered and clean afterwards.
All four steps are to be done twice a week. For everyday maintenance, a simpler buffing brush, exfoliant and foot balm routine is enough.
