Chanel reincarnated

Chanel has released a short film that tells the story of the brand's iconic tweed jacket.

Directed by the brand's creative director Karl Lagerfeld (left), Reincarnation re-enacts the moment when designer Gabrielle Chanel, played by actress Geraldine Chaplin (right), spots a jacket worn by a hotel elevator operator, portrayed by singer Pharrell Williams (centre). The jacket would later serve as inspiration.

Williams also composed and wrote the lyrics to CC The World, which can be heard in the clip.

The film was screened in Salzburg earlier this week to coincide with the Paris-Salzburg 2014/15 Metiers d'art show.
