Christy Chung not letting age get in her way of bearing child for younger husband

Canadian actress Christy Chung has decided that age will not be a barrier when it comes to bearing a child for fiance Golden Zhang, also known as Zhang Lunshuo.

46-year-old Chung first met her 34-year-old beau while on dating show, Perhaps Love. He then proposed to her on set earlier this year.

The couple are currently preparing for their wedding which will be held in Beijing next month.

A photo of their wedding invite has also surfaced online, showing the two dressed as a mermaid and merman. The couple mentioned previously that the wedding will have an aquatic theme

Chung may have been married twice, but the Canadian Chinese star still gets wedding jitters.

She told Sina that she gets more nervous as the wedding date nears. But she is looking forward to having friends and family gather for the happy occasion.

Netizens have also questioned Chung's ability to conceive at her age, but the actress remains undeterred.

To improve their chances of bearing a child, Chung kept to the traditional Chinese custom of placing red dates and lotus seeds on their matrimonial bed to ask for blessings.

The clock may be ticking for Chung, but Zhang doesn't seem to be in any hurry to expand their family when asked if he was pressured to carry on the family line.

"I have taken into account her age, and we are both busy with work. It is difficult to predict if we will have children," the Chinese actor told Sina, adding that he would leave it to fate.

When the couple first announced their relationship, they were lambasted online. Some fans were aghast at their large age gap.

Zhang, however says that there are more important things on his mind like working hard to provide for his new family.

Chung has three daughters from her previous marriages. It has been reported that they have accepted Zhang as their mother's significant other.
