North Korean women are increasingly turning their attention to fashion with the popularity of counterfeit designer bags rising in the nation, according to media outlets.

The British fashion magazine Dazed & Confused recently revealed an article written by a Chinese contributor, which includes photos of North Korean ladies.

In the photos, they look modern and stylish, wearing high heels and holding fake designer bags such as Dior or Prada.

The article said fashion style of the ladies may have been affected by Ri Sol-ju, the wife of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un who made high heels the new fashion trend in North Korea.

"North Koreans are well aware of famous designer brands and also like them," the contributor added.
