Fans call Elva Hsiao's boyfriend 'childish' after he unfollows her on Instagram

Could there be trouble brewing between Taiwanese pop star Elva Hsiao and her Singaporean beau Elroy Cheo?

Just weeks after the cosy pair were spotted gambling together at a Macau casino, Hsiao's fans noticed that Cheo had 'unfollowed' Hsiao on Instagram.

Cheo's sister is none other than Arissa Cheo, the wife of Taiwan-based artiste Va Ness Wu. My Paper reported that with his older sister gaining notoriety for her husband-bashing antics on social media, could Cheo be looking to follow in her footsteps?

According to My Paper, Hsiao had been planning a birthday surprise for her boyfriend of more than a year, but told friends a few days ago that the party has been called off. Friends shared that the pair simply had a minor disagreement over a mutual friend's problem, and they are still together.

Asian Pop News reported that Hsiao's fans have quickly taken sides in the alleged spat, with many blasting Cheo for his "ungentlemanly act" in unfollowing his girlfriend on Instagram.

One netizen reportedly said: "It's so childish to unfollow after a quarrel."

However, in a separate report the next day, My Paper noted that Cheo had once again followed Hsiao. But it remains to be seen if the party will still go ahead. When contacted, Hsiao's manager said: "We don't respond on private matters. Thank you for your concern."
