Mothers have to cook, clean and keep the household in shipshape.
It can seem like a thankless job at times, especially when the many hours put in do not go towards drawing a salary.
So, what if mothers were paid for all the hours they put in? How much would they earn?
We estimated the number of hours a mum may clock each week in certain roles. We then calculated what they would have been paid for each of those roles, based on the Ministry of Manpower's 2013 occupational wage table and the Ministry of Education's career information for teachers.
