Lancome's new mascara an eye-opener

SINGAPORE - Known for its long-wearing, volumising and lengthening mascaras, Lancome has one-upped the competition again with its new Grandiose mascara.

No one has thought of it before, but the mascara wand has a 25-degree curve like a swan's neck.

The brand claims that together with its brush, the unique shape of the wand allows you to easily reach the tiny hairs in the corners of the eyes.

The special shape of the wand apparently skirts the contours of the cheekbones and nose during application as well, so you do not have to hold it at an awkward angle or get mascara on your face.

Another benefit to the curved wand: it gives the mascara a swirl every time you cap it, which prevents the formula from drying up.

The mascara comes in an ultra black shade to make eyes look brighter, while the flexible polymers in the formula curl, lengthen and volumise lashes. A rose-cell extract is also added to soften and strengthen the hairs.

The first three shoppers to purchase the mascara at Sephora Ion Orchard next Thursday will receive a gift bag worth $500. The next 150 to purchase the mascara will receive a Beautiful Eyes Kit - which includes a full-sized Hypnose Palette Eyeshadow - worth more than $165.
