SINGAPORE - Female and Nuyou, SPH Magazines' leading English and Chinese women's fashion publications respectively, presented their annual joint signature event, Female/Nuyou Catwalk on 21 April night to a hip crowd made up of the who's who in fashion, entertainment and design.

The by-invite-only event marked the Singapore runway debut of DKNY's highly anticipated Spring Summer 2016 collection - the first collection by the brand's new creative directors Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne. A total of 30 looks consisting of cool, monochrome separates and dresses that put a modern spin on '90s minimalism were sent down the catwalk.

Adding to the Downtown New York vibe, the show took place at Artspace@Helutrans - a converted container warehouse in Tanjong Pagar Distripark that's become one of Singapore's most fashionable art galleries - and ended with an after-party with W Hotel's Mr Has behind the decks.

Over 300 guests were in attendance, including industry insiders, tastemakers and several influential personalities from the fashion, beauty and creative industries. Among them were actresses Fann Wong, Dawn Yeoh and Hayley Woo; model/actor Chris Lee; singers Alfred Sim and Serene Koong; host Lee Teng; top hairstylist David Gan; model Nadia Rahmat; and beauty Youtube star Guan Min.

Female editor Noelle Loh said: "The whole event was just a confluence of cool - from the brand and collection presented to the venue to the stylish crowd. It's the perfect reflection of our magazines: hip, modern, and always having our finger on the pulse of fashion, art and pop culture."

Nuyou editor Terence Lee said: "From the atmosphere to the social media buzz generated, it was clear that everybody had a good time, including the unprecedented number of celebrities and personalities who turned up. We take pride on making Female/Nuyou Catwalk a fashionable affair, but it also has a reputation for being fun and this year's was no exception."
