New Face 2014: Diya

Diya, 15
Student at Tampines Secondary School

Diya Prabhakar was scouted to be a model at 13, but she is not giving up on her studies.

Her pet subject? Mathematics.

"Math is very interesting," she said. "I like the challenge when I get a really hard problem and have to research to solve it."

Diya, 15, added: "Modelling is what I want to do full-time, but I'd like to further my studies so I can work in banking and finance as a backup plan."

Her dream modelling assignment is to model for Chanel.

She said: "I've always been fascinated by Karl Lagerfeld's fashion. I watch all of his interviews, even though I don't speak French."

Diya says her family is her rock.

When her grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer last year, she accompanied her during chemotherapy and even helped clean and empty her grandmother's drain (a tube inserted in the skin to drain extra fluid into a bulb).

"It taught me to stay strong no matter what happens. Before, I didn't fully realise how people were affected by these things."

Subaru Forester 2.0XT

With tremendous fuel efficiency and Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (AWD), hitting the roads has never felt easier and safer than with the Subaru Forester. With a push of a button, the new X-Mode can be activated to control its transmission, engine, AWD and brakes, navigating safely even through the most tumultuous of roads.
