New Paper New Face girls pick shoes from New Look

The New Paper New Face's Top 20 went shoe-shopping at New Look at 313@Somerset.

But they weren't choosing just any pair - the Top 20 will have to wear these heels for all official events.

The girls searched through shelves stacked with shoes of every style and hue. Finally, the tall task was accomplished, with each finalist finding a pair that fit.

The annual New Paper New Face contest is in its 22nd year and is presented by Subaru MotorImage. Official apparel is by Levi's, official footwear and accessories by New Look.

This year's winner gets S$10,000 and a feature in Singapore's top women's magazine, Her World.

Comfortable

Nicolle Lim, 17, picked black cross strap wedges.

The Ngee Ann Polytechnic student said: "I look for heels that are comfortable and high enough, and preferably with no pointed tip. Comfort is important, and so is design."

Cross

Tiara Skadiang, 20, went for white platform pumps with embroidered details.

The Singapore Institute of Technology student said: "I chose a simple pair that goes with anything. I instantly chose platforms, I always go for this kind of thing.

"I like the paisley, it's a summer trend and white is also a hot colour now."

Gorgeous

Aurelia Ng has UK size 4 feet and usually has trouble finding shoes.

But the Singapore Institute of Management student managed to choose a pair of teal wedges.

The 21-year-old said: "I like how it's so strappy, so it's not something you'd see easily on the street. The colour is unique and the style is similar to my go-to pair which I've had for really long.

"I like to invest in good shoes. My heels should last me a few years. New Look's heels are really gorgeous. My heels have to be comfortable and make my legs look longer, which is why I chose platforms."
