Perk up your peepers

1. Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye

from $94, from Estee Lauder counters

A new extension of the brand's iconic Advanced Night Repair serum, the new eye cream comes in two textures: a lightweight serum or a rich gel cream.

The ChronoluxCB technology promises to boost skin repair as you sleep, while anti-pollution technology helps to prevent damage from environmental factors. This anti-ageing formula also hydrates skin.

Tip: Mix the formula into your liquid concealer on the back of your hand and apply the blend around the eyes to smoothen and brighten.

2. Clarins Extra-Firming Eye Cream

$86, available at Clarins counters from next month

Made for Asian women, this lightweight cream treats sagging around the eyes, especially on the upper lids, with an organic green banana extract which supposedly increases the production of collagen fibres. A rose wax is added to the product to smoothen lines, while an oat extract firms and strengthens the delicate skin.

As Asians are more prone to developing pockets of sagging fat around the eyes, caffeine and the flowers of the albizia tree in the product boost circulation there.

3. SK-II Stempower Eye Cream

$144, from SK-II counters

This eye cream is a new addition to SK-II's anti-ageing Stempower range.

A concoction of Siberian ginseng extract, the brand's signature yeast ferment Pitera and artichoke extract firm and plump skin, while lupine alfalfa extract treats sagging eyebags.

4. Elizabeth Arden Flawless Future Powered by Ceramide Eye Gel

$69, from Elizabeth Arden counters

This gel is part of the brand's new line that taps on its iconic ceramide ingredient, which keeps skin resilient. It also contains Telosense, a protein complex technology that promises to minimise the appearance of lines. Vitamin E, sodium hyaluronate and an algae extract work in tandem to target puffiness and dark circles.

5. The Body Shop Drops of Youth Eye Concentrate

$49.90, available at The Body Shop stores later this month

The star ingredient of this formula is edelweiss, which is known for its protective, hydrating and regenerative properties. The edelweiss is an endangered plant, so The Body Shop harvests it sustainably by reproducing its stem cells in labs. The process took almost six years to perfect.

The formula also has sugar from the cassava root, which forms a film over the skin for an immediate firming effect. Sodium hyaluronate and fairtrade babassu oil keep skin soft and moisturised. The product comes with a metal roller ball applicator to treat puffy eyes.

6. La Prairie Cellular Eye Essence Platinum Rare

$560, available at La Prairie counters from October

An addition to the brand's premium Platinum collection, this eye cream contains the precious metal which supposedly stabilises the electric charge in skin so it remains healthy. It also promises to firm skin immediately while nourishing it with a black tea ferment and a white bird of paradise extract. Ginseng and horsetail extracts are also added to perk skin up.

A luxe detail: The tip of the dropper is coated with platinum so you can use it to massage the area around the eyes.
