There is nothing as invigorating as a nice cool shower or a warm bath - if you're lucky enough to have a bathtub in your home - at the end of a long day.

Whether it's a quick shower or a long pampering soak in your bathtub, it's precious me-time to relax, get scrubbed up and welcome new energy.

There are many bath products in the market, each promising to cleanse your body and soul.

We tested some of the latest suds and scrubs from shower gels, fruity and floral scrubs to a bubble bath treat.

The Body Shop Spa Of The World French Grape Seed Scrub, RM169 (S$53.50)

The smell of the scrub is great and not overpowering.

Although, it is still a little fruitier than I would like it to be. I don't always incorporate a scrub into my shower routine, but I really enjoyed using this scrub and how it felt on my skin.

After each use, it left my skin feeling extra clean and smooth. The beads are not too harsh, yet they gave adequate exfoliation. The packaging is very muted (read: masculine) and I think that is most important to me as a man.

It is part of The Body Shop's Spa of the World Firming Ritual collection, but I didn't actually notice any firming effect. Not that my skin needed firming anyway…

Acca Kappa Virginia Rose Body Scrub With Apricot Seeds Powder and Rose Mosqueta Oil, RM148 (S$46.90)

I have to say I wasn't too enamoured with the scent. I love the smell of roses but this to me, had a more clinical scent.

After getting past the scent, this is a pretty good scrub. It's not harsh and washes off easily - don't you hate it when you still have bits of scrub that doesn't rinse off properly?

This gentle exfoliating scrub has Rose Mosqueta oil, sunflower oil, grape seed oil and shea butter to moisturise as well as revitalise the skin.

After using it (it's recommended use is once a week), I found that my skin felt soft, smooth and looked somewhat brighter.

Victoria's Secret Pink Sweet & Flirty 2-in-1 Wash & Scrub, RM95 (S$30.10)

The first thing I love about this 2-in-1 foaming wash and scrub is that it's not too harsh on my skin.

It's a clear gel containing skin-polishing microbeads - gritty enough to scrub away dead skin, but also has a gentle and luxurious feel that leaves my skin feeling supple for the whole day.

It has a playful fruity scent which can come off as overpowering at first, but fades off as soon as you step out of the shower. It does, however, leave you with a sweet-smelling bathroom for the day.

The scrub comes in a pretty flip-top tube, ready to be tossed into a gym bag or set up as a ready-to-use display in the bathroom.

Innisfree Sea Salt Body Oil Scrub, RM80 (S$25.35)

My first foray into spa-inspired bath territory is best described as an "experience". Because that's what the innisfree Sea Salt Body Oil Scrub is - a full-on sensorial bliss.

The rough texture of the salt as it scrubs away dead flaky skin? Satisfaction.

The lingering moist finish on the skin from the deep-hydrating oil? Glorious.

And that relaxing soft scent as you walk out from your bath? Heavenly. I'd recommend pampering yourself in a bathtub though, because honey, those floors are going to be oily!

First time usage requires one to mix the oil and the salt together with the provided spatula. Instructions are in Korean, but the simple step-by-step illustrations ensure that this isn't rocket science.

Bath & Body Works Mad About You Shea & Vitamin E Shower Gel, RM65 (S$20.60)

I love shower gels! At any one time, I have seven gels and scrubs in my shower and I pick one that suits my mood on that particular day. I have used Bath & Body Works products for the last 15 years; every time I go to the United States, I would stock up on their products.

While their body lotion is amazing, its shower gel is not quite on the same par. That's not to say it's bad. Just that the scent doesn't last as long as you'd like it to.

This variant I am given to test out is a combination of black currant, peony and vanilla musk.

Personally, I prefer vanilla sans musk, but thankfully, the musk scent is not overpowering and the peony and blackcurrant actually works well together.

While I do like the overall scent and lather, can't say I am mad about the price.

Sephora Cotton Flower Bubble Bath & Shower Gel, RM32 (S$10.20)

This two-in-one cleanser comes in an ultra sleek, pretty in pink bottle that is immediately captivating. And the promise of a delicate scent which will refresh and destress is just too difficult to turn down.

As a bubble bath, the foam is silky smooth and your whole bathroom will smell crispy clean after. The cleanser contains vitamin E to soften the skin and glycerin to moisturise.

I love it so much and am looking forward to trying the other fragrances which include some of my favourites like vanilla, toffee and lemon verbena.
