Vivian Hsu shows off photo of her baby for the first time

Six months pregnant Taiwanese singer-actress Vivian Hsu has, for the first time, posted an ultrasound image of her baby on her Instagram account.

The image shows the baby's hand as if he is gesturing 'hello'.

The 40-year-old celebrity is expecting a son, and she is due in October.

According to entertainment site Asian E-News Portal, the caption of her photo read: "Good morning, I am Lee V baby! I am almost 30cm and weigh almost 800g, and very healthy!"

"As the doctor is afraid my mother will have a premature delivery, my mother and I have been working very hard and I am trying my best to grow quickly... Hope I can reach 2kg and everybody need not worry!"

Ms Hsu has had a challenging first four months of her pregnancy. It was reported that she had been admitted to hospital for severe vomiting and diarrhoea, and had to be on a drip.

It was also rumoured that the Taiwanese A-lister had to undergo a womb-related surgery that is supposed to prevent the risk of miscarriage and birth complications, reported Asian E-News.

The report also said doctors had ordered Hsu to have bed rest until the baby's birth. On May 10, she posted on Facebook: "I guess I will listen to the doctor and stay in the bed this year!"

Although she often posts images of her lying in hospital beds and occasionally being on drips, Ms Hsu appears to be in good spirits. She regularly documents her nutritious meals, and what she gets up to in a typical day such as eating breakfast, reading, and watching movies.

Ms Hsu is currently based in Singapore with her businessman husband Sean Lee. The couple tied the knot in June last year. They are expecting their first child.
