Bridesmaids who were proposed to at their bestie's weddings

Bridesmaids who were proposed to at their bestie's weddings

A white lace dress adorns a bride's body as she walks down the aisle, father in hand, eyes gazing ahead.

This is a day almost every woman dreamily waits for. A day they can selfishly claim their own.

However, newly-wed Jess Nakrayko put motto "the bigger the better" to test.

According to Huffington Post, bride Nakrayko orchestrated her best friend's proposal at her very own wedding.

Best friend Jessica Kieley's soon-to-be-fiance, Adam, told the bride he didn't want to take anything away from the destination wedding in Jamaica.

Nakrayko, whose only condition was that the proposal wasn't on the wedding day, a day she wished to savour as her own, nudged him to pop the question.

As she and her sister were planning the reception and bouquet toss, her sister said, "What if you didn't throw the bouquet, but you passed it to Jessica, and Adam was waiting behind, down on one knee?"

"And we just lost it," Nakrayko said.

Who wouldn't want your best friend to throw a surprise proposal?

The plan went smoothly as the bridesmaid said 'yes!'

But 2017 wasn't the only year of surprise wedding proposals.

Stephanie Silvia, wedded July 2016, similarly tweaked the traditional wedding ritual as she too helped arrange her two friends, Mark Foster and Scott Gray's, proposal at her reception.

The bouquet did not land on Gray by chance. Rather than throwing the bouquet into a sea of bridesmaids, the bride dashed towards Foster's boyfriend and handed him the flowers, reported newnownext.com.

Foster, having rushed over, dropped to one knee as Gray turned around overwhelmed with emotion. So sweet!

However, one unlucky bride, wedded summer 2017, wasn't quite in on the secret.

Writing about her wedding whirlwind to Slate's "Dear Prudence" column, the bride detailed how her best man proposed to his girlfriend in the middle of her vows.

The wedding sure was bumpy - not only did he propose to his girlfriend, but the heedless couple also announced their pregnancy.

"I couldn't even hear the vows my husband wrote or the rest of the ceremony over the noise of Jane's happy sobs, her very surprised family who were also guests, and people seated nearby congratulating her," the bride wrote to Dear Prudence.

The doves were certainly let loose as Twitter users became enraged at the chain of events.
