All-American fashion on show at Ralph Lauren flagship store opening

Classic all-American fashion was on show as Ralph Lauren celebrated the grand opening of its first Polo Flagship Store in Singapore with a cocktail party.

The 8,246 square feet duplex store is the first Polo Ralph Lauren flagship store in Asia and features a comprehensive assortment of Ralph Lauren apparel, footwear, accessories and leather goods for men and women.

The event held on Oct 9, which also marked the debut of Polo Ralph Lauren for Women, was attended by over 400 guests and local socialites, including radio presenters Sonia Chew and Yasminne Cheng, actress Haylee Woo and style icons Yoyo Cao and Linda Hao.

The guests, arriving in a preppy chic ensemble, were greeted by models who donned Polo's latest 2014 fall collection. They entered the store on the first floor, an area dedicated to Polo for men, featuring Ivy League classics and English haberdashery with downtown styles and all-American sporting looks.

The dapper crowd enjoyed flasks of whisky and bottles of ice-cold American craft beer with DJ Natalie Pixeldub spinning in the background.

On the second floor, there was a spacious showcase of Polo's new women's collection, featuring sophisticated tweeds, simple black dresses, outdoor-sy pieces and city-worn leather. Footwear, including patent leather Mary Jane shoes and the new heeled hiker boots, were presented in its own room.

On the women's floor, guests mingled to the tunes of local indie band, The Sam Willows, and munched on classic American delights like burgers, lobster rolls, ice cream cookie sandwiches and s'mores, as well as bespoke handcrafted cocktails with an American twist.

Guests ended the evening with 'a perfect shot' with an exclusive tin of the Ralph Lauren's private coffee blend, which is only available at the first Ralph's coffee shop at the New York flagship store.
