Bomb-sniffing dog fired by the CIA for not wanting to find explosives

Working for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) probably comes with its challenges as do most jobs - and it seems like even dogs feel the heat.

Lulu, a bomb-sniffing dog, recently lost her job and was dropped from a CIA training programme.

She had apparently refused to become a bomb-sniffing pup.

The CIA explained in a blog post or what they refer to as a 'pupdate', that Lulu "began to show signs that she wasn't interested in detecting explosive odours".

This happened to Lulu, a Labrador with luscious black hair, a few weeks into the training.

The agency added that it's not "uncommon" for this to happen and dog trainers from the CIA will need to become "doggie psychologists" so as to determine a dog's feelings and performance.

Sniffing out explosives as a job wasn't the right fit for Lulu. Despite being motivated with food and play, it became clear that Lulu was no longer enjoying herself, said the CIA in a series of tweets.

Ultimately, the CIA decided to let Lulu go. But on the bright side, she was adopted by her handler and is currently enjoying life at her new residence.

She's made new furry friends including another dog, rabbits as well as squirrels and even has children to play with all day.

"We'll miss Lulu," the agency wrote.

"But this was the right decision for her. We wish her all the best in her new life."
