Brazil woman to auction off virginity for second time

RIO DE JANEIRO - A 21-year-old Brazilian woman who auctioned off her virginity online for $780,000 (S$970,000) last year now says she wants to sell it again as the deal was never consummated.

In October last year, Ms Catarina Migliorini took part in an online auction as part of the "Virgins Wanted" documentary organised by Australian film-maker Justin Sisely.

A Japanese identified only as Natsu beat out competition from 14 other men, mainly from Brazil, but also from India, Australia and the United States.

But in a video, Ms Migliorini now insists: "I am still a virgin in every sense of the word and no one can prove me wrong."

The young woman, who posed nude next to a pink teddy bear in Playboy magazine, opened her own website to hold a second sale of her virginity to the highest bidder.

"I decided to open my own webpage to auction off my virginity and this time it will be for real. So those interested, men or women, can make their bids," she said.

She told the Brazilian showbiz website PurePeople that she hopes to bring in at least US$680,000.

So what really happened with Natsu last year?

"I met Natsu in a Sydney restaurant. He was not a 53-year-old man as Justin (Sisely) claimed. He was a 21-year-old Japanese. I was surprised and no deal was struck between him and I," said Ms Migliorini, who added that she will give details of the failed transaction in an upcoming book.
