SINGAPORE - Everybody is familiar with the Automated Teller Machine (ATM) that dispenses cash, but how about the Automated Thanking Machine?
Part of an ingenious marketing campaign by Canadian-based TD Bank to thank its customers, the ATM dispensed selected gifts to its users and the entire process was captured on video.
In the video, a young mother was given tickets to bring her children to Disneyland. Overwhelmed with tears, she said thankfully: "I have never been able to take my kids anywhere!"
Another TD Bank customer, who has a cancer-stricken daughter in Trinidad and Tobago, was given air tickets to visit her.
The video, which was uploaded on YouTube over 10 months ago, is now enjoying a resurgence on the internet, topping the list of trending YouTube videos yesterday (June 11). It has over 21 million views now.
