Couple plunge to death from cliff in Portugal while taking selfie

A Polish couple plunged to a rocky death in Cabo da Roca, West Portugal within the sights of their young children.

The couple were allegedly attempting a 'selfie' or a portrait of themselves when the mishap occurred.

Their children, 5 and 6, have since been come under the care of Polish Diplomats and are undergoing psychiatric therapy, while awaiting their closest relatives to receive them, reports Portugal Resident.

Though details have yet to be confirmed, the couple allegedly trespassed over a safety barrier wedged between a lighthouse and the edge of a cliff, after handing the camera over to their children.

Although the tragedy happened last Saturday, the rising tides have hindered the recovering of the bodies to Sunday.

Cabo da Roca is a popular tourist destination in Europe.
