It brings a whole new meaning to the term "drawing room".

A group of local artists, The Band of Doodlers, were invited to Hotel Jen, off Tanglin Road, yesterday to transform a 17m-wide hoarding into a work of art while renovation work was being done on the building.

As well as drawing Singapore icons such as Marina Bay Sands and Singa the Lion, they drew portraits of guests too, along with speech bubbles for them to pen memories of their visit.

Guests were also asked to paste slips of paper on a large map of Singapore to pinpoint their favourite spots.

The hotel's general manager, Mr Clifford Weiner, said the event was part of plans to showcase the talents of young local artists.
