SINGAPORE - The $1.15 million stakes Emirates Singapore Derby, one of the richest horse races in Singapore, will return to racetracks here on Sunday, Jul 12.

The Derby is the third and final leg of the Singapore Four-Year-Old Challenge, a series of races run over varying distances and restricted to four-year-old horses.

This year marks a milestone as Emirates celebrates a 20-year partnership with the Singapore Turf Club.

Mr Yu Pang Fey, President and Chief Executive of Singapore Turf Club, said: "Singapore Turf Club will once again present one of the best horse races on turf while Emirates will showcase an exciting combination of glamour, fashion and fundraising for charity off the racetrack."

Aside from the action on the track, the most well-dressed guests will also be in the running for the covted "Best Dressed to the Races" title.

The winner, which will be selected by a panel of judges, stands to win a pair of business class tickets to Melbourne wit accommodation and parade lounge passes to the Melbourne Cup.

To encourage more people to participate, Emirates and fashion magazine Elle will stage a pop-up fashion installation at ION Orchard.

The event also supports the local community with fund-raising activities on for the Community Chest on race day.

All donations received will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the government under the Care & Share Movement for SG50, which will benefit over 80 charities supported by the Community Chest.
