A married English Premier League (EPL) footballer has been implicated in a £100,000 (S$210,000) blackmail bid after a one-night stand.
The defender, said to be a household name, apparently spent a "no-holds-barred" night with a woman, reported UK's The Sun on Sunday.
He then sent her a number of explicit photographs and videos of himself.
The Sun on Sunday said that for legal reasons, it cannot reveal the identity of the player, the woman or the club involved.
The two met at a party close to the player's home last year and had sex a few hours later.
A source told the newspaper: "It was no holds barred.
"It may have been a brief encounter but it left them both exhausted. This was pure animal passion. His wife would be horrified if she ever found out the full details."
The single woman, after finding out that the player was married, then showed the intimate images to his club.
The woman, in her 30s, also demanded cash in return for not saying anything about the romp.
She had travelled to the player's club with her family after learning that he was married.
She was referred to the club's legal department. But officials reportedly refused to pay out any cash.
The newspaper reported that the player was distraught after learning the woman had contacted his club last week.
His wife was said to be completely unaware of the fling.
The woman had also apparently bragged to her friends about another fling she enjoyed a year earlier - with a different EPL player.
A source said: "She said she got it on with another star who plays for a different team. She's a hot girl who likes fit, toned men."
The source, who said that the woman did not demand money from the other player, said: "It looks like he's going to get away with it because she doesn't want to rock the boat with his family.
"But he had better stay pals with her because now he'll know what she's capable of."
