A family finally decided to open the metal door in their backyard to find out what was hiding underneath.
To their surprise, underneath the heavy steel hatch, it revealed a 8-foot by 10-foot bunker.
Inside the bunker was a ladder, which led down to the water-filled space with boxes floating on top of it.
According to izismile.com, the boxes contained food, clothing, medical supplies, tools, flashlights, batteries, items that usually constitute a 1960's fallout shelter.
Most of the items were things that you would need to have in a shelter if you planned to live there for two weeks.
The shelter's previous owner had actually packed away food and snacks for their stay underground.
The vintage products were the best part of the discovery and the family donated all of the items to the Neenah Historical Society.
