Free hot towel shaves, head and face massages at Changi Airport

SINGAPORE - Sorry ladies, this club is only for the boys.

If you are feeling fatigued before a flight, you can now spruce yourself up at a pop-up barber shop at the transit area of Changi Airport Terminal 3.

The Male Grooming Club is a collaboration by Philips and L'Oreal Paris Men Expert, together with Changi Airport Group and travel retailers The Shilla Duty Free and Sprint-Cass.

Besides hot towel shaves using the latest Philips electric shavers, professionals from The 'A' Street Barber Shop at Haji Lane are on site to provide head and face massages, topped off with a skincare treatment by L'Oreal.

"Travelling long distances can be a tiring affair and Philips is pleased to be able to offer men a grooming experience that will refresh and recharge them for the journey ahead," said Mr Steven van Dortmond, Global Business Development Manager Travel Retail, Royal Philips.

Travellers at the transit area can also consult grooming advisers for the appropriate shaver and grooming products for their skin as part of the free service.

The grooming section of the pop-up barber shop can only accommodate two travellers at a time, while the merchandise section allows travellers to enjoy exclusive promotions on the products.

Do not expect the full works of a typical barber shop, though. The shaving process at the pop-up shop is simple and efficient, taking no more than 15 minutes.

It is fuss-free pampering in comfortable barber chairs - a teaser of the thorough experience expected at full-fledged barber shops. The ambience is not lacking, with two prominent barber's poles, warm lights, and immaculate set-up of shavers skincare products in front of the mirror.

"All male travellers at Changi Airport will be able to enjoy a unique grooming experience at Terminal 3 and we look forward to welcoming them to the Male Grooming Club," added Ms Barbara Bressand-Sussfeld, General Manger, L'Oreal CPD Travel retail APAC.

Free grooming services are available daily at the Male Grooming Club, opened from 6am to 10am, and 7pm to 11pm at the transit area of Changi airport terminal 3 until Jan 24, 2017.
