SINGAPORE - Android tablet users who wish to read The Straits Times during long morning commutes can now do so, with the launch of its new Android tablet app on Thursday.
It is the latest addition to the daily newspaper's stable of apps on the iPhone, Android phone and the iPad.
"With this new Android app for tablets, our readers can now enjoy ST reports whenever they want on more platforms," said Mr Warren Fernandez, editor of The Straits Times.
"It adds to our efforts to bring the news to you wherever you are."
The app, which is free to download, comes with free breaking news and push notifications.
Subscribers can also access a seven-day archive and the paper's full print content.
It is part of The Straits Times' ST Tablet package, which replaces the ST iPad package. The subscription to the new package costs $26.65, the same as that for the previous iPad package. It allows access to both iPad and Android tablet apps.
Current subscribers to the iPad package or the All-in-One package, which provides The Straits Times' content on multiple platforms, will automatically enjoy access to the new app. The All-in-One package costs $28.65 a month.
