ONE Championship is ready for a roaring return to Singapore with ONE: DYNASTY OF HEROES, and has recently announced the final two bouts to complete a 10-bout fight card.
Former ONE Flyweight World Championship title challenger Geje “Gravity” Eustaquio (8-5) of the Philippines will take on Anatpong “Mak” Bunrad (5-2) of Thailand, in a rematch of their 2015 encounter.
The last time Eustaquio and Bunrad met each other at the center of the cage, the two went to war for three whole rounds, exchanging heavy blows in a series of action-packed sequences, much to the delight of fans in attendance. Bunrad ended up taking a razor-thin split decision that could have gone either way.
The two martial artists are well-matched, and should provide loads of action and excitement, as their two styles clash perfectly against each other.
Eustaquio, 28, is a member of the famed Team Lakay of Baguio City, and is a high-level wushu practitioner. He trains alongside the biggest names in Philippine MMA including ONE Lightweight World Champion Eduard Folayang and former ONE Featherweight World Champion Honorio Banario.
The Filipino’s opponent, Bunrad, is a Shihaishinkai Karate Champion who trains out of Phuket Top Team in Thailand.
In addition, Indonesian National Grappling Champion Jeremy Meciaz will be making his professional MMA debut against the “Rock Man” Chen Lei (4-0) in the evening’s preliminaries.
Meciaz is a 25-year-old grappling specialist who trains out of Predator Fight Team in Jakarta, Indonesia, while Chen, a former Shanghai Open Brazilian jiu-jitsu champion, fights out of Changsha, China. The two will be making their ONE Championship debuts in a catchweight contest of 69.0kg.
The addition of Eustaquio-Bunrad and Chen-Meciaz completes the bout list for ONE: DYNASTY OF HEROES, which takes place on 26 May at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
The card is headlined by ONE Women’s Atomweight World Champion “Unstoppable” Angela Lee, as she takes on top contender Istela Nunes. In the co-main event, ONE Welterweight World Champion Ben “Funky” Askren defends his title against rising young Malaysian MMA star Agilan “Alligator” Thani.
