Photographer spends 3 years capturing kissing couples on Shanghai trains

A series of photographs of couples kissing or locked in embrace while on Shanghai trains and train stations has been gaining attention online.

The photographer, who works in IT, has spent three years snapping photographs of couples as they enjoy a brief moment of intimacy amid the hustle and bustle of the Shanghai metro.

He says that he takes about 50,000 to 60,000 photos a year, and has compiled the snaps into a collection called "#kiss #romantic", English-language tabloid Shanghaiist reported.

According to Chinese news portal news.qq.com, the photographer says that he always tried his best not to disturb the couples while he photographed them.

He explained that he would immediately delete the picture if the couple being photographed felt uncomfotable.

But he added that sometimes it was not the couples themselves who requested that he delete the photos, but rather other onlookers who were concerned at his actions.
