Police find US mobile home filled with filth and trash

When police in US town Silverhill, Alabama, went to a mobile home to make an arrest, they were greeted by a very horrifying sight.

According to Viral Nova, the cops were there to arrest Gilmer Edwards for several outstanding warrants.

However, upon entering his home, what they saw were mountains of filth and trash.

Rotting food, animal droppings and human faeces covered practically every inch of the house.

The stench was so bad that police had to use respirators to search the premises.

A bird, two dogs, more than 10 cats as well as Edwards' son, who is now staying with extended family members, were removed from the disgusting home.

Edwards and his wife have been arrested and charged with child endangerment.

They are currently in jail until their bond hearings.
