Social experiment: Men tricked into catcalling their own mothers

How will a man react if he catcalls a woman on the street who turns out to be his own mother?

A public service awareness video made by sporting equipment company Everlast shows exactly what happens and it has been picking up steam on the internet.

The social experiment shows two men secretly filmed as they go about doing their regular routine of catcalling random women on the streets of Peru.

However, this time they unknowingly speak crudely to their own mothers.

Various online reports show differing views on the video with some saying it is completely staged.

Nonetheless, the overall sentiment is that the experiment proves a point - that all women are someone's mother, sister, wife and should be regarded with respect.

Watch the video below to see how these men reacted when they realised the 'female strangers' they provoked on the streets were, in fact, their own mums.
