Stranger picks up single mum's bill

She is a single mother with three children, two of whom have special needs.

The woman in the US state of North Carolina had the shock of her life when a stranger paid for her family's dinner at a Pizza Hut outlet.

The stranger even wrote a three-page note applauding her "loving parenting".

The mother, who did not want to be identified, was so moved that she wrote to local TV station ABC11 to share the story, the Mail Online reported.

At the restaurant, she saw a young man sitting alone nearby and went up to him to apologise for the noise her children would no doubt make.

COULD RELATE

He said he could relate as he had three little ones of his own.

She then tried to engage her four-year-old daughter, whom she recently learnt has bullying tendencies, and her six-year-old son who has Asperger's, or autism spectrum disorder, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

She ensured they were on their best behaviour throughout the meal.

After the man left, a waitress told her that he had paid the family's bill and left them with a Pizza Hut gift card and a three-page note.

The teary mother and the waitress read the note together: "I do not know your back story, but I have had the privilege of watching you parent your children for the past 30 minutes. I have to say thank you for parenting your children in such a loving manner...

"Keep up the good work and when it starts to get tough do not forget that others may be watching and will need the encouragement of seeing a good family being raised. God bless! Jake".
