Suicide bomb attack kills 11 in eastern Afghanistan: Officials

Jalalabad, Afghanistan - At least 11 people have been killed and 13 injured after a suicide bomber struck the home of a local politican in Jalalabad, capital of the eastern Afghan province of Nangarhar Sunday, authorities said.

"Eleven people were killed and 13 injured when a suicide bomber targeted the house of Obaiduallah Shinwari," Zabiullah Zemarai, a member of the provincial assembly of Nangarhar, told AFP.

The attack took place during a "jirga", an assembly of tribal leaders, but left Shinwari unscathed, he said.
