Talking into fans never gets old

Talking into fans never gets old

Remember the days when we were children and used to always talk into fans? The sound of the robot voice used to make us kids go closer and closer to the fan until our mothers would shout to get our attention.

This memory was triggered when I recently watched a video by Japanese electronics company KDK.

Titled "SG KDK Fan Talk - Treasured Moments", the story revolves around family values and the theme of love binding Singaporean families through the years across multiple generations.

The video is nostalgic as the first scene is set in a time of a long forgotten Singapore.

Just like the fan, the theme of loving families is permanent in our lives, even in modern times - much like how there are similarities between the father and son in the video.

In the video, it seems to me that KDK emphasises its long-term presence in Singapore through the mother as the central figure.

Accompanying her son and grandson through their growing years, she is always around no matter what, just like KDK fans which have been around since the 1950s.
