WATCH: Russian police gun down escaped bear that killed resident

A bear that escaped from Semiluki village in Russia's Voronezh Region, was shot to death by the police after it preyed on a local resident and injured another on Sunday.

The video, shot by the victim's grandson, captured police officers arriving on site and killing the bear to avoid more casualties.

Earlier in the day, the bear had escaped its enclosure, entering private territories and wandering around the village, killing an 84-year-old man working in a yard and injuring its 49-year-old owner.
