Who you calling black Kia? Grab driver's message sparks hilarious misunderstanding

Here's something for the hump day blues.

A man who booked a Grab taxi received a text from the driver saying he would be arriving in two minutes, followed by two powerful words: "black kia".

"Kia" is the Hokkien term for child, and also the name of South Korea's second-largest carmaker.

Clearly, the driver was referring to the latter in describing his car. But the Grab customer thought otherwise.

"Why u call me black kia", he asked the driver.

A screenshot of the hilarious conversation was posted on Facebook by user Faith Kiew on Monday (Feb 13). It has since garnered over 900 Reactions and has been shared more than 2,400 times.

Facebook user Marrcus Phua was tagged as the source of the entertainment.
